Buli Cards

An aborted card game project, for which a lot of cards have been drawn.

Maybe one day I'll have the courage to try and finish it, but for the moment and after several games with a few players, the game rules aren't ready.

Then presentation and description here for the game are synthetised and simplified; it's more to give an idea about the initial game rather than trying to provides precise rules.

Game idea

You're an artist trying to sell artworks for sausages (yes, sausages are used for currency).

Many superheroes try to help you, or not.

The game ends when one player has sold all his artworks.

Cards

There was different type of cards.

Artist

The Artist cards represent the artworks you have to sell.

There's 4 differents artists (so a maximum of 4 players), for which artworks style are heavily inspired by real artists.

The number of artworks depend of the artist but a the end, the total value for artworks is the same for all artists (15 sausages).

Idea was to get different strategy according to artists cards the user had but finally it was totally unbalanced...

Sausages

The Sausages Sausage cards represent money earned from the sale of an artwork.

There's normally enough Sausages cards (in value) to let one player being able to sold all his artworks, but not enough to let two players doing it.

NFT

Picture of a physical game cards (NFT cards)

The NFT cards were created to create a round where players had to act in cooperative mode.

The principle was that when a NFT card was drawn from the pile, as investors went crazy and obsessed with NFT no artwork could be sold to them.

It didn't work.

  • People around me had never heard of NFT, didn't understand what it was all about and considered it as a geek niche thing that only I knew about;

  • The switch between cooperative and competitive turns didn't worked as it should be, some players were doing everything to bypass the idea of cooperation to try to sink other...;

  • The rules of cooperative mode were probably too complex to understand.

Super Heroes

The Super Heroes cards are game-changing actions.

Different actions were available:

  • Attack, to let player trying to stole sausage of another player;

  • Protect, to let player under attack to try to protect sausage;

  • Block, to prevent a player from playing;

  • Discount, to change value of an artwork;

  • Surprise, a rendom event occurs;

  • Sausage, a super sausage.
